Mekong Institute (MI), with support from the New Zealand Aid Programme, is organizing the regional training program on “Preservation and Packaging for Safer Food” from June 5-16, 2023, at Mekong Institue Training Centre, Khon Kaen, Thailand. The 10-day training program aims to strengthen the knowledge and understanding on the selection of food preservation and packaging technologies for safe and quality food and to promote the application of best practices in enhancing the safety, quality, market access and profitability of food products and minimize the loss in the food value chain.
Representatives of the private sector from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam are encouraged to apply. The course is also useful to food regulators and researchers from institutes of higher learning in building their capacity to support the private sector in the choice of food preservation and packaging technologies to maintain the quality of food products.
The application will close on May 14. Full training scholarships are available to a total of 28 participants: seven (7) each from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam.
