On April 24, 2023, Ms. Maria Theresa S. Medialdia, Director of the Agricultural Development and Commercialization Department, Mekong Institute (MI), and Ms. Pornwilai Pumira, Partnership and Resource Mobilization Manager, received a visit from Mr. Marco Rudin, Political and Economic Attaché, Embassy of Switzerland in Thailand and Ms. Tiamkare Thitithamtada, Political Officer.
Ms. Medialdia provided a briefing about the Institute, including MI’s past collaboration with the Swiss Government. The two parties then discussed potential opportunities to work together in the future.
The delegation from the Swiss Embassy also introduced funding possibilities for small projects by local NGOs as part of the “Embassy’s small grant” scheme. The projects can be under the following areas:
- Good Governance
- Human Rights
- Peace Process
- Technical, Vocational Education, and training
- Environment/ Sustainability
