Seoul National University Visits Mekong Institute to Strengthen Regional Connectivity Learning

On July 9, 2025, Mekong Institute (MI) welcomed 28 students from Seoul National University (SNU), Republic of Korea, as part of the university’s Mekong Global Connectivity Program. The visit to MI Headquarters in Khon Kaen, Thailand, was a component of the structured learning visit under “2025 Summer SNU in World Laos: Climate and International Development,” which aims to enhance student understanding of regional dynamics, sustainability, and development cooperation.
 
Led by Dr. Ji Sung-Tae, fostered dialogue on regional cooperation exchange on regional cooperation, sustainable development, and Mekong integration. During the visit, MI delivered a special lecture highlighting its efforts in fostering inclusive growth, cross-border collaboration, and resilience-building across the Greater Mekong Subregion. The session enriched the students’ understanding of the Mekong context through practical policy insights and capacity-building practices.
 
The visit reflects MI’s continued commitment to knowledge-sharing with academic institutions and future leaders working to advance sustainable connectivity in the region.
