Mr. Madhurjya Kumar Dutta, Director of Trade and Investment Facilitation (TIF) Department, spoke in the recent international symposium celebrating 15 years of the ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership in Nanning, China on March 28-29, 2018.

Serving as discussant in the panel discussion on ‘Seizing New Opportunities – ASEAN-China Innovation Cooperation’, Mr. Dutta shared perspectives on the Greater Mekong Sub-region’s role in the ASEAN Integration process and how the cooperation provides the countries with opportunities to develop the region into a center of shared development. Underscoring the human resource development projects of MI, he introduced, for instance, the e-business platforms developed and being managed by the Institute as an enabling tool for business communities in the sub-region to explore regional and global markets, generate new ideas, expand their technology base and promote business networking.

The symposium brought in experts, scholars and government officials to weigh in on various discussion issues, including new patterns of ASEAN-China economic and trade cooperation, new opportunities for ASEAN-China innovation cooperation, and prospects for ASEAN-China people to people exchange.
