Kunming, China (November 15, 2016) – Mekong Institute (MI), in cooperation with Yunnan Academy of Science and Technology Development (YASTD) organized a training workshop, on “Biopharm and Health Industrial Innovation and Technology Transfer in the GMS” at the Kunming Jinjiang Hotel. The event was also supported by the Department of Science and Technology of Yunnan. 

The workshop brought together 22 government officials, business managers, and technicians from the departments/agencies of biopharmaceutical in GMS countries. The Opening Ceremony was attended by Mr. Wang Zehua, Director-General, YASTD and Dr. Watcharas Leelawath, Executive Director of MI. 

The two-day training workshop included in-classroom training and structured learning visits to Yunnan Baiyao Group Co., Ltd. and Institute of Medical Biology Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. 

During the Opening Ceremony, the ten-year cooperation agreement memorandum between YASTD and MI was signed and the Awarding of ‘GMS Technological Innovation and Technology Transfer Base’ and ‘GMS Strategy Research Base’ was organized as well.
