In today’s shifting global trade landscape, regional infrastructure such as the China–
Laos–Thailand Railway plays a vital role in boosting economic resilience, crossborder
logistics, and tourism across the Lancang-Mekong region and ASEAN. As
countries in the Mekong subregion seek to recover from global uncertainties and
accelerate regional integration, this strategic railway corridor is emerging as a
powerful engine for inclusive growth, sustainable connectivity, and economic
transformation.
The Press Launch on July 14, 2025, serves as a curtain-raiser to the high-level
Conference on Logistics and Tourism Promotion along the China–Laos–Thailand
Railway, which will be held on August 19, 2025, in Khon Kaen—an important node
along the railway route. The main conference will gather policymakers, industry
leaders, experts and stakeholders from China, Laos, and Thailand to develop
concrete actions that promote multimodal transport integration, trade facilitation,
and tourism revitalization through railway development.
By previewing the conference themes and launching promotional activities—such as
the announcement of the “Top 10 Tourist Destinations in Northeast Thailand”—the
press launch aims to build early momentum, generate media interest, and
inform the public about how this trilateral cooperation can translate into real
opportunities for economic growth, regional partnerships, and people-to-people connectivity.
