Ten Cambodian officials from different departments of the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD) participated in a learning visit in Baan NongYai Community, Surin Province, Thailand on July 8-10, 2015. This three-day field exercise enabled participants to put theories into practice, allowing them to conduct a village study using participatory rural appraisal (PRA) tools and techniques. The participants likewise learned about successful projects in Thailand on water resource management, farmer cooperatives, and various community-based programs. The learning visit was organized by Mekong Institute as part of the one-month training course on Sustainable Community Development sponsored by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).
