Modular Training on Creative Industry Cluster Management and Twinning for Regional Innovation in the Mekong Region

June 22 - 25, 2026 | Khon Kaen, Thailand

The Mekong Institute (MI), with support from the Mekong–Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund (MKCF), will organise a modular training on “Creative Industry Cluster Management and Twinning for Regional Innovation in the Mekong Region.” The training will take place from 22–25 June 2026 at the Mekong Institute in Khon Kaen, Thailand.

The training is part of the Promoting Creative Industry for Heritage Tourism Development in the Mekong Region (Creative4Mekong) project, which aims to strengthen creative industries and enhance tourism development across five heritage destinations in the Mekong region.

The training aims to build participants’ capacity to identify and map creative industry clusters, assess their potential for tourism development, and explore practical ways to transform creative assets into engaging tourism experiences. It will also support participants in developing action plans and twinning initiatives that promote regional collaboration, innovation, and cross-border creative tourism initiatives.

It targets government agencies in creative industries, creative industry associations, creative and innovation hubs and clusters, as well as creative businesses and enterprises from sectors such as arts and crafts, performing arts, design and creative services, visual arts, music, and related industries.

A total of 25 participants from the five project locations—Ayutthaya (Thailand), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Hue (Vietnam), Luang Prabang (Lao PDR), and Bagan (Myanmar)—will be selected. Selected participants will be provided with round-trip economy airfare, accommodation at the Mekong Institute, and daily allowance.
