New Delhi, India – October 4, 2025 – Mr. Madhurjya K. Dutta, Director of the Trade and Investment Facilitation Department at the Mekong Institute (MI), visited the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), a policy think tank under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
During the meeting chaired by Prof. Sachin Kumar Sharma, Director General of RIS, both institutions discussed potential areas of collaboration aligned with shared priorities on regional integration, connectivity, trade, and sustainable development.
The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MI and RIS on October 3, 2025, in New Delhi. The MoU establishes a framework for joint research, capacity-building initiatives, policy dialogues, and knowledge exchange, marking a significant step toward enhancing cooperation among India, ASEAN, and the Mekong region.
