The training program targets existing female entrepreneurs from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV), to help them develop and strengthen entrepreneurial qualities and motivation to expand their business for the regional and global market. It also aims to provide necessary knowledge and information on business management, finance, marketing, source of assistance, incentives, subsidies, rules and regulations to help them set up business ventures. The training is attended by 27 participants representing business sectors and business development services providers from the CLMV countries.

Invited participants are expected to develop and implement an action plan after the training to demonstrate knowledge and skills gained. The action plan should be something that is useful for starting/expanding their business for the export market.

Dr. Watcharas Leelawath, Executive Director of MI, inaugurated the training, welcoming all participants to Mekong Institute and Khon Kaen. During the opening ceremony, Dr. Watcharas emphasized the importance of unlocking the huge potential of female entrepreneurs as an untapped source of economic growth. He also expressed his hope that the training program would help participants to identify and assess viable business opportunities and imbibe entrepreneurship qualities through sharing experience with co-participants and interaction with successful women entrepreneurs.
