Khon Kaen, Thailand — August 7, 2025 — The Mekong Institute (MI) welcomed a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Thailand Resident Mission, led by Mr. Anouj Metha, Country Director, on a courtesy visit to MI headquarters in Khon Kaen.
The meeting served as a platform to exchange updates on ongoing collaborations, particularly the GMS Knowledge Network, and to discuss potential areas for future cooperation. Discussions also explored opportunities to strengthen engagement between MI and the ADB Thailand Resident Mission, with a focus on supporting government-led projects in Thailand that advance sustainable and inclusive development in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
The ADB delegation also included Ms. Roykaew Nitithanprapas, Principal Communications Officer, and Ms. Chidchanok Annonchan, Economist.
On behalf of MI, the discussions were led by the Executive Director, together with members of the MI senior management team. The exchange highlighted the value of continued partnership and reaffirmed MI’s commitment to collaborating with ADB in promoting regional integration, resilience, and capacity building across the Mekong region.
The courtesy visit further strengthened the MI–ADB partnership, paving the way for expanded cooperation and mutual support in addressing regional challenges and fostering sustainable growth in Thailand and beyond.
