MI Celebrates 28 Years of Regional Cooperation and Development

🎉 Celebrating 28 Years of Regional Cooperation and Development!

Today, Mekong Institute (MI) marks 28 years of dedicated service to the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). Established in 1996, MI has grown from a bilateral initiative to a recognized intergovernmental organization, uniting Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam in their pursuit of shared prosperity.

For nearly three decades, MI has:
🔹 Enhanced regional cooperation and integration
🔹 Provided vital training and research
🔹 Facilitated policy dialogues on crucial GMS issues.

As we celebrate this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to building a better GMS by:
🔸 Working closely with our member countries
🔸 Advancing development across all sectors linked to MI’s thematic focus
🔸 Supporting various subregional cooperation frameworks

🔸 Being guided by our vision to contribute to a prosperous GMS with inclusive societies and shared economic growth.

Join us in commemorating 28 years of impact, and look forward to a future of continued collaboration and progress in the Greater Mekong Subregion!
