MI OPENS APPLICATIONS TO TRAINING PROGRAM ON SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

Mekong Institute, with support from the government of the People’s Republic of China, is organizing the Regional Training Program on Promoting Efficient Utilization of Resources and Sustainable Energy in the Lancang-Mekong Region on November 25 to December 6 at Mekong Institute, Khon Kaen, Thailand with Structured Learning Visits (SLVs) in Thailand and Yunnan Province, China. Full scholarships will be provided to eight (8) participants from Thailand and Vietnam.

The two-week training aims to enhance knowledge and understanding of accessible and profitable potentials of efficient energy utilization in the Lancang-Mekong Region; provide and exchange experience and good practices in applying efficient resource utilization and promoting sustainable energy in each of the countries; identify patterns of energy usage, equipment fault, and human errors that lead to energy wastage; and ultimately, create a regional network of stakeholders working toward sustainable energy in the Lancang-Mekong Region.

Anchored on participatory processes and action learning, the program will be conducted through a five-part module consisting of lectures and presentations, group discussions and activities, role plays, and SLVs. By doing so, the program aims to equip the participants to develop comprehensive action plans which they can adopt and implement in their respective countries.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The program is designed for government representatives and professionals from academic and research institutions or NGOs involved in efficient utilization of resources and sustainable energy in the region. Please note that four (4) participants will be selected from each of the two countries (Thailand and Vietnam).
