REGIONAL TRAINING ON “BUSINESS RESEARCH METHODS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT ALONG THE NORTH-SOUTH ECONOMIC CORRIDORS: NSEC (R3A & R3B)”, FROM JULY 14-18, 2014 SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

Trade and Investment Facilitation

The Mekong Institute (MI) conducted a one-week regional training program on Business Research Methods and Information Management along the North-South Economic Corridors: NSEC (R3A & R3B)” from July 14-18, 2014 at its residential training center, Khon Kaen, Thailand. This training course is a part of the one-year project on “Enhancing Provincial and Local Chambers of Commerce Capacities in Trade and Investment Facilitation along the GMS North-South Economic Corridor (R3A & R3B)”, funded by the ASEAN-China Cooperation Fund (ACCF). 

A total of 22 participants from China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand joined the training course representing CCIs, SME Associations and provincial government departments in the trade and investment field. 

In this training, participants learned knowledge and skills on business research, NSEC database development and its utilization, E-commerce, Google-map, Facebook business webpage-design, and Quick Response Code (QR Code) generation. This was aimed to develop their skills to provide added functions on the existing business database of NSEC. 

As part of the modular training, the participants will implement their action plans between July and November 2014. During this period, the participants are also required to complete and update the provincial/town business profiles on the NSEC database, upgrade the existing NSEC business database to an E-commerce platform with product showcase. Moreover, the participants will also conduct local workshops in their provinces/towns for knowledge sharing and marketing of the database.
