HOME / ONGOING PROJECTS / MEKONG CREATES: Mekong Capacity-Building for Resilient and Enhanced Agricultural Technologies and Food Systems

BACKGROUND

The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) is home to diverse ecosystems and a predominantly agricultural economy. However, it is challenged by food security and climate resilience. Climate change-induced events—such as rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, prolonged droughts, and floods—have disrupted food production systems, degraded ecosystems, and undermined the livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers. These challenges are exacerbated by economic constraints, limited access to safe food and gaps in sustainable agricultural practices

COUNTRY OF IMPLEMENTATION

Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Viet Nam

DURATION

March 2025 – July 2026

BENEFICIARIES

  • Private Sector: Farmers, food processors, agribusinesses
  • Public Sector: Government agencies, policymakers
