On March 15, 2023, Executive Director of Mekong Institute (MI), Mr. Suriyan Vichitlekarn, sat down with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) team, led by Ms. Lydia Ruddy, Director of Communications, Salvador “Badz” M. Buban, Policy Fellow, Policy Design Department, and Jeremy Gross, Director of Capacity Building. 

The two parties discussed a number of areas, particularly potential partnerships between MI and ERIA for the implementation of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Knowledge Network. ERIA could engage as technical partner by sharing experience, advice and knowledge products in ASEAN which can be developed and adopted in the GMS. They also deliberated how to leverage existing knowledge products of ERIA.

Lastly, Mr. Suriyan informed ERIA team that in the next 6 months, MI will conduct a stocktaking study as part of GMS Knowledge Network. Further exchanges will be planned.
