A delegation led by Professor Yu Yimin, Dean of School of Information, Dean of Intelligent Application Research Institute, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) visited Mekong Institute (MI) on November 21, 2023. Mr. Rithy Buth, Officer-in-Charge and Director of Finance and Operations Department, welcomed the delegates and senior MI staff. The objective of the meeting was to learn about MI’s activities and discuss possible areas of collaboration.

After a short presentation about MI, Professor Yu Yumin made a presentation to introduce the Intelligent Application Research Institute (IARI) of YUFE and the IARI’s work on cross-border information technology system, cross-border e-commerce and digital trade, and cross-border trade and finance blockchain.

The delegation has taken a keen interest in MI’s work related to cross-border paperless trade. Both sides expressed mutual interest in future cooperation, such as organizing capacity-building programs and joint research.
