Mekong Institute organizes the Mekong Forum once every two years. The first Forum was held in July 2011, and the second one was held in July 2013. To continue this trend, this year we are tackling “Modernizing the GMS towards the post-AEC 2015”.
Around 150 people from senior policy makers, business and civic leaders, academia and development practitioners involved in GMS and AEC attended the Forum. At the end of the year, ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will kick in. The forum aims to contribute to the development of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) to be able tackle challenges in a highly competitive economic region.
