MR. ZHANG WEI

Activity : Mid-Level Communication Skill Capacity Building for Regional Cooperation and Integration in the Lancang-Mekong Region

I am so honoured to have this opportunity to participate in this training. All the courses and activities are designed targeted to our jobs. The training is useful and the lessons can be directly adapted to my job in the future. Personally if I have the opportunity, I would like to join more trainings of MI and get more knowledge about the Lancang-Mekong Region and learn more about the cooperation in this region.

MR. SIBETI MASUKU
ACTING PRINCIPAL TRANSPORT ECONOMIST, MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS, ZAMBIA
Activity : International Training Program on Green Freight and Logistics Development 2018

The training is a timely training. Our country just approved the revised national transport policy, and the policy itself espouses new thematic areas which are environment-sensitive. The information we have learned from this training will help us in implementing the revised national transport policies for the betterment of the country.

For my work specifically, the information we have obtained from this course will help ensure that I facilitate needful information, adequate and also well-researched data to help in formulating policies.

MR. SONG KHENGLEAN
FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY CONSULTANT, TWM CONSULTANT, CAMBODIA
Activity : Regional Training of Trainers on Food Safety Promotion

One of the things I want to highlight about the course is the management of the training because as a consultant, I will be training other people, so this training taught me how to design a good training, how to be a good facilitator. They also shared training materials that we can use. The course provided very experienced resource persons, and I’m also very happy to learn more about the situation of food safety in the other GMS countries.

MR. NAY OO KYI
MANAGING DIRECTOR NATURAL FARM FRESH MYANMAR CO., LTD., MYANMAR
Activity : Food Safety Management Tools in Food Manufacturing

This was an excellent training for a young company like us. Since we are now meeting with people who need the dryer facilities, we can use the information from this training to give advice and share information regarding the lay-out, raw materials, waste disposal area, etc. The general flow of the training has been excellent and everyone has been very friendly.

MR. WEIDONG WU
DEPUTY CHIEF, INTERNATIONAL AND REGIONAL COOPERATION OFFICE FOREIGN AFFAIRS OFFICE OF THE PEOPLE’S GOVERNMENT OF YUNNAN PROVINCE, P.R. CHINA
Activity : Advanced Communication Skill Capacity Building for Regional Cooperation and Integration in Lancang-Mekong Region

This training helped me to gain more information about international and regional cooperation of the GMS countries. I think to further promote international and regional integration, we need more communication and cooperation with other countries. This kind of training course is a good platform for improving our communication skills as well as building our connections for future collaborations.

MS. ZEHUI LIU
SENIOR STAFF, DIVISION OF CONSULAR AFFAIRS FOREIGN AFFAIRS OFFICE OF THE PEOPLE’S GOVERNMENT OF YUNNAN PROVINCE, P.R. CHINA
Activity : Advanced Communication Skill Capacity Building for Regional Cooperation and Integration in Lancang-Mekong Region

I benefitted a lot from this course. Many of us come from the foreign affairs office of the government and our work is related to international communication. This course has improved our ability to communicate in English clearly, concisely and effectively in professional situations. It also enhanced my understanding of regional integration concepts and approaches in the GMS.

MR. DO TUN CUONG
GENERAL DIRECTOR, TAN TAO FORWARDING & WAREHOUSING CORP. (ITATRANS CORP.), VIETNAM
Activity : Sustainable Transport and Logistics Planning and Management Phase 2

The training is very interesting, and we learned many information – from the general concepts to the more detailed ones. I especially liked the discussions on warehouse management and technology applied in logistics. There were also case studies that required us to apply our knowledge for more practice. I hope MI will continue to offer trainings like this.

MRS. KEO BANDOL
CAMBODIA BRANCH MANAGER, ASI LOGISTICS CAMBODIA, CAMBODIA
Activity : Sustainable Transport and Logistics Planning and Management Phase 2

I really like this training because many subjects can be applied in my country. I’m from the logistics field so the topics that really interested me in this training were on storage and KPI. When I come back I will apply the lessons I learned on KPI , not just in the logistics field but also in other areas like human resource. The discussion on dangerous goods was also very relevant because in my country, this subject has not been fully explored yet so we need to bring this knowledge and apply in our context.

MS. NOR HAZIRAH KAN HUSSIN KAN
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, ASEAN ECONOMIC INTEGRATION DIVISION MINISTRY OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY, MALAYSIA
Activity : Enhancing Trade Competitiveness for Regional Integration

This training is extremely useful as it actually provides the knowledge and better understanding of all the fundamental elements under the subject of trade facilitation as part of regional integration, and in fact, moving towards global economic integration. The training course provided an overall coverage of all the economic factors that drive the economic growth of the region. I think the excellent presentation provided by the resource persons and other presentors guided us through on how we can apply the knowledge in our daily work life.

I also enjoy my companionship with my fellow ASEAN members. I think this is a very good platform to keep all of us on board. I would like to congratulate Mekong Institute and the sponsors of this program for giving us the opportunity to get to know all the members of the various ASEAN countries and giving us the chance to sit together, to share our goals and come to a similar understanding about economic integration in the region.

MR. JATURONG SRISAWANGWONG
TRAINER/CONSULTANT, INDUSTRIAL PROMOTION CENTER, REGION 5, MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, THAILAND
Activity : Enhancing Trade Competitiveness for Regional Integration

I find this training very interesting because it’s important to know about the environment outside the country that affects entrepreneurship in Thailand. This is a good opportunity to learn about free trade agreements or the new customs model of other countries. I especially like the discussions on green logistics and special economic zones.

The environment in MI is also very different. Once you step inside, it does not feel like you’re in Thailand. There is an international feel, and it is great to be a part of this. You don’t have to go abroad to experience this kind of atmosphere.

MS. WIN PA PA THU
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF TRADE, MINISTRY OF COMMERCE, NAY PYI TAW, MYANMAR
Activity : Enhancing Utilization of Free Trade Agreements by SMEs

I like this training because it meets my expectations. The things we learned about the overview of SME in the GMS, free trade agreement and tariff negotiation are relevant to me as a government official and especially in my organization. The facilitators of the training are well-trained, and the resource persons explain with examples so the discussions are very clear.

I would like to express my gratitude to MI and the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) because we learned a lot of things useful in our work.

MS. NGUYEN THI VAN ANH
SPECIALIST, VIETNAM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (HO CHI MINH CITY BRANCH) HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM
Activity : Enhancing Utilization of Free Trade Agreements by SMEs

I really appreciate the knowledge that I gained from this course. Before joining the course, I just had general information on the subject, but now I have a deeper understanding of FTAs and how they can help SMEs to develop their business. I also feel comfortable studying here in MI. The people are very friendly and helpful, and I enjoy the food, the atmosphere.

I hope that in the future I will have the opportunity to come back and join more useful training courses like this. I hope after the course that I can use the knowledge that I gained in my work and help the businesses in my country.

MR. SOPHEARA CHEA
SVAY RIENG DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, SVAY RIENG TOWN, CAMBODIA
Activity : Trade Events Promotion

The important thing I learned from this training that I can apply in my work is the topic on business matching. After this training (as part of action plan implementation), we organized a business matching in my province, and we gained a lot of results and insights from that.

We received a lot of new information from the experts and skilled trainors of the training program, and we are happy and very satisfied with the lessons. If there are more training courses in the future, we would like a chance to participate again.

MS. PHETTOULY PANYADA
MANAGING DIRECTOR, GOLDEN YEM CO., LTD. PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA
Activity : Promoting Women Entrepreneurship for Export Business
This training is really helpful. I learned how to make a business plan and a market plan for exporting my product. Second, I learned more about production – when I produce my product, I know now how to do a production plan. I also learned about e-commerce, how to sell my product on Alibaba, for example.  The speakers were all very good because they are well-experienced. As for the facilitators, they were very organized and provided us with materials we can use. Everything is well-prepared.  I really want for MI to have another training, to continue this training because this is a very good opportunity.
