MI reports MKCF achievements at the Mekong-RoK Senior Officials’ Meeting in Vientiane

Mr. Madhurjya Kumar Dutta, Mekong Institute (MI)’s Director of Trade and Investment Facilitation Department and Director of Mekong-Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund (MKCF) presented MKCF’s progress under MI management during the Mekong-Republic of Korea Senior Officials’ Meeting (SoM) on May 6, 2024 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The SOM meeting was attended by high-level officials from Mekong countries and Republic of Korea (RoK) and co-chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lao PDR and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and RoK.

Since its inception in 2014, the MKCF has supported 48 development projects across 7 priority sectors of the Mekong-RoK cooperation with a total project funding of 25 million USD.

RoK has increased the annual contribution to the fund up to 10 million USD until 2027.
