Mekong Institute, with the support of the Republic of Korea through the Mekong-Korea Cooperation Fund (MKCF), is organizing a modular training on “Green Freight and Logistics Management in Mekong Countries.” The one-week training program will be held from September 17 to 21, 2018 at Mekong Institute in KhonKaen, Thailand.
Part of a three-year project on “Green Freight and Logistics Development in Mekong Countries,” the main objectives of the modular training are to i) discuss tools to help logistics service providers (LSPs) to become more competitive and reduce cost of logistics and transport, ii) discuss the potential and benefits, and best practices in green freight and logistics and iii) build capacities of the LSPs to comply with ‘green mark’ certification.
Anchored on participatory processes and action learning, the training will be conducted through a combination of methods – lectures, plenary discussions, case studies, group activities, role play, and simulation. By doing so, the training aims to equip the participants with knowledge and skills toward sustainable practices in the transport and logistics industries in the Greater Mekong Subregion.
