MEKONG INSTITUTE SIGNS COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH CHINA SOUTHERN POWER GRID (CSG): UPGRADING POWER TECHNOLOGY AND HR DEVELOPMENT IN THE GMS

Khon Kaen, Thailand – On November 5, 2014, MI signed a Cooperation Agreement with China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (CSG). This recent collaboration aims to upgrade the electric power technology as well as develop human resource through capacity building in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS). 

By combining the expertise of MI and CSG, future projects are expected to advance the human workforce by igniting new initiatives on electric power technology in the GMS. It is hoped that through this collaboration, the region will be better connected and more accessible to electric power as well as promote the professional knowledge and technical support on power grid interconnection of the region. 

MI and CSG will explore and consider implementing future cooperation by various means of resources and approaches—training programs, research works on various special topics, regional workshops or executive seminar, and project operation.
