MEKONG INSTITUTE OPENS APPLICATIONS TO 2018 SAFE FOOD COURSES

Agricultural Development and Commercialization

Mekong Institute (MI) will be organizing a series of safe food courses this year as part of the New Zealand Aid Programme-funded Food Safety Project.

These regional training programs comprise a major component of the five-year food safety project to be implemented in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam (CLMV). The Project primarily seeks to engage key actors from both the public and private sectors to put in place an integrated mechanism leading toward significant changes in food safety perception and practices in the region, especially in fresh fruit and vegetable value chains.

MI is now accepting applications for interested CLMV nationals to participate in the following courses to be delivered this year. These courses will be organized at the MI Residential Training Center in Khon Kaen, Thailand. MI will cover the costs of participation for selected candidates.

Courses will be delivered in English and will be facilitated by experts from New Zealand and the Greater Mekong Subregion. Selected participants are expected to develop and implement action plans after their respective courses. These action plans must be relevant to their organization’s priorities or the participant’s current work.
