Newly-appointed Chinese Consul-General to Khon Kaen, H.E. Mr. Li Mingang visited the Mekong Institute (MI) on February 1, 2015. Led by Dr. Watcharas Leelawath, MI Director, the MI Chinese staff warmly welcomed him. 

Following a brief presentation of the background and history of MI, highlighting the thematic areas, Dr. Watcharas introduced the current and future activities supported by Chinese Government. H.E. Li expressed that the Chinese Government values MI’s works and contributions to the GMS regional development and that he looks forward to cooperating with MI in the future. Dr. Watcharas appreciated the Chinese Government’s support to the region and MI as well.
