MI’S PROSAFE ALUMNA IS FEATURED IN THE ASEAN MAGAZINE FOR HER EFFORTS IN HELPING TO BUILD A STRONGER COMMUNITY.

Ms. Nwat Derli Zaw, a former “Promoting Safe Food for Everyone: PROSAFE” training participant, was recently featured in the latest ASEAN magazine for her community-building efforts in Shwegyin Town, Bago District, Myanmar. After graduating from university and making a career shift from a corporate secretary to an entrepreneur, Ms. Zaw started her own agri-business and looked for ways to improve her skills and empower the people in her community. With the desire to learn more, she applied for a food safety course at Mekong Institute (MI):

I was selected to participate in a course that offered in-depth learning about food safety standards in Thailand organized by Mekong Institute.”. “Thanks to the support of international organizations, I could improve my skills, develop the necessary technologies for my business, and obtain easier access to the local market,

MI is proud to support many young entrepreneurs across Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam (CLMV) to enhance their knowledge and skills. The PROSAFE training courses are funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme under the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and will run until May 2023.
