Dr. Angela Jane Macdonald, Ambassador of Australia to Thailand, visited Mekong Institute (MI) on March 1, 2023. She was accompanied by Ms. Anita Wise, Second Secretary, and Mr. Sarat Suebsantikul, Senior Political Analyst. Led by Mr. Suriyan Vichitlekarn, MI Executive Director, they were warmly welcomed by the MI staff, namely Mr. Julian Latimer Clarke, Program Specialist, Trade and Investment Facilitation Department, Ms. Pornwilai Pumira, Partnership and Resource Mobilization Manager, Ms. Jian Wang, Program Manager, Sustainable Energy and Environment Department, and Ms. Anusara Tanpitak, Communications and Knowledge Management Manager. The Ambassador expressed keen interest in learning about MI and the Mekong region and in exploring possible cooperation with MI in the region. In return, Mr. Suriyan provided an overview of the Institute, some of the work that MI has done, and past cooperation with the Australian government.
