SME CLUSTER GROUP IN MI-JAIF PROJECT SHORTLISTED FOR WOMEN OF THE FUTURE AWARDS SOUTHEAST ASIA

Ms. Saroeuth Morn of Khmer Golden Silk (KGS), one of the selected small and medium enterprise (SME) clusters in the MI-JAIF project, was shortlisted in the Women of the Future Southeast Asia Awards 2018-Social Entrepreneur category.

Khmer Golden Silk is a family-run enterprise that is committed to preserving the art of Cambodian weaving and empowering women by providing them with a source of livelihood. To date, KGS boasts of an impressive 285 member-households that form its weaving community.  

Saroeuth attended the MI regional training program on ‘SME Cluster Development and Export Consortia Formation’ in September 2016 as part of the project on ‘Enhancing Competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises along the Southern Economic Corridor’ supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).

Saroeuth will be joining five other social entrepreneurs from the Philippines, Malaysia, and Cambodia in the awarding on March 20, 2018 in Singapore. The Women of the Future Southeast Asia Awards recognizes role models and women working for change in the areas of business, social entrepreneurship, arts and culture, community and public service and others.
