The 11th Economic Corridors Forum (ECF-11) with the theme “Boosting Competitiveness, Connectivity, and Community in the GMS Economic Corridors through Focused and Integrated Spatial Development” was held online on October 28, 2020. The meeting was co-chaired by the Royal Government of Thailand and Asian Development Bank (ADB). The meeting emphasized initiatives and interventions aimed at accelerating the development of the Greater Mekong Subregion’s (GMS) economic corridors. The ECF-11 was attended by GMS senior officials, representatives of development partner organizations, the private sector, and ADB officials.  

At the ECF-11, Mr. Madhurjya Kumar Dutta, Mekong Institute’s Director of Trade and Investment Facilitation Department presented the results of the monitoring of the Early Harvest Implementation of the Cross-Border Transport Agreement (CBTA). MI was assigned by ADB since 2018 to study and report on “Early Harvest’ implementation (EHI)” by gathering primary data and feedback from Permit/TAD holders in the five GMS countries taking part in the “Early Harvest” and Myanmar and Thailand for the bilateral Initial Implementation of CBTA (IICBTA) MYA-T Permits/TADs). Earlier, the progress and results of the EHI and MYA-T IICBTA were reported to the National Transport Facilitation Committee.
